Combating micro-organisms biologically with nitrogen
The Low Oxygen (LOX) method from Presscon is a completely biological way of combating pests. It offers a solution for, among other things, the infestation of seed and consumer goods and animal feed products by micro-organisms. The technique of expelling oxygen with nitrogen is the core business of Presscon and contributes to the preservation of a healthy environment by avoiding chemical pesticides that can be harmful to plants or other products.
An aerobic bacterium needs oxygen for its metabolism and causes a lot of damage. By expelling oxygen in an airtight space where goods are stored in bulk, many pests and micro-organisms such as whiteflies and grubs suffocate. Our nitrogen generator (BPC-Gen) produces very high purity nitrogen and thus brings the oxygen level in a closed space to a low level. Tests show that our LOX method suffocates present micro-organisms such as gall mites, narcissus mites, thrips, pot worms and wireworms in these conditions. We combat these microorganisms without harming the beneficial organisms or beneficial insects that are used as biological control agents and natural enemies in biological pest control.
